A Travellerspoint blog

8 July, Saturday

Well here we are in the Seattle area helping a close friend to celebrate his 80th birthday. Weather is outstanding, clear skies and temps in the hight 80s. Unusual for here this time of year.

Coming up was interesting, we took LYFT from Long Beach to LAX. Nearly an hour ride and for only $30.15, great driver. Then once we got to SEATAC we again took LYFT to the Enterprise office for the rental car. That ride was $11.11, how they come up with the prices is interesting.
We will spend a couple more days here in the area and then head across the mountains to Walla Walla to visit our old babysistter. On the way our route takes us thru Mt Rainier National Park. Have not been there for many years.

Weather in Long Beach is starting to warm up which is nice. It is still 63 in the morning but the daytime temps will reach 85 or so at the beach. The winds will also die down, making it very pleasureable. Have been able to renew our parking space for next summer, agaiin from middle May to middle September.

Have not decided what our plans are for after Long Beach and the RNPA Reunion in Dearborn. It will depend greatly on the weather patterns in the South. We would like to visit Dallas and College Station Texas for the two Bush Libraries. BUT not driving into tornadoes and such.

Hi Gary & Barb, I wrote an e-mail to Barb but received no answer. Now I see you are in Seattle. Are you coming back to Long Beach? If so, when? When do you go to Dearborn? Wishing both of you well. Barbara Davis Aker
