Wednesday, July 2:

Dry run day! Today 8 of us made the run from the campground to the subway station in Riverside. From there we took the subway downtown Boston. This was in preparation for the trip on the 4th. Once downtown we bought tickets for the Harbor Tour and the Trolley Tour. The Harbor Tour was about 45 minutes long, circling the harbor. Lots of history was given and explanations of the various buildings and wharfs. We made a brief stop the the Navy base for those that wanted to get off and visit Old Ironsides.

After the Harbor tour we went to the Union Oyster House, oldest resturant in the nation, for lunch. It was quaint and the food was good.

Next we boarded the Old Town Trolley and rode for nearly 2 hours. Just as we were boarded a flash of lightning and clap a thunder preceded a torrential rain storm. We escaped it by seconds as we boarded the trolley. The route was of Old Boston and Cambridge. Lots of information, and jokes were given by the driver/tour guide. It was a great way to see the entire city for the first time. The intermittent rain storms didn't hinder the trip.

Upon returning to the RV Park we saw the mess created by the rain, over an inch. The Oliva's had arrived and a relaxing time was had by all.
