2 August, Sunday

Leisurely morning as we prepare to depart the Glacier area. Left about 10:00 and headed towards Bigfork. We turned just before the town as we wanted to drive down the Swan Valley. This is a most beautiful place, tall pines, several lakes, and remote cabins. Had never been on this road before, but was surprised at the quality. Not much traffic, which was nice. Stopped at the small town of Seely for the farmer's market. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and a nice lunch. Continued on to Fairmont Hot Springs, near Anaconda. Visited the hot springs to swim and soak. This particular hot springs is nice because of the lack of sulfur smell. Pools were kept at 91 and 104.

1 August, Saturday

Full day to explore Glacier Park. Stopped by several falls and scenic spots on our way across the mountain to St Mary's. Traffic was extremely heavy, considering it was Saturday. On the way into the park the rangers were not even stopping cars, just waving them thru. Saw several animals along the way.

31 July, Friday

As you saw evidence of, we spent the morning downloading pictures and posting them on the blog. Hope you enjoy them.

After lunch we headed to the mountain and GOING TO THE SUN HIGHWAY. The weather was perfect, clear skies and 75. The park was also busy, lots of people driving and riding the shuttles. Glacier is a hands on park with hundreds of hiking trails and of course the main road going across. As we ascended we saw all the mountain flowers, two mountain goats with full horns, a deer and several mountain sheep. Because of time we only went to the summit, walked the area and then returned to the campground.

31 July, Early writing

WOW!!! Now you get to look at the pictures of our trip. We have spent the morning downloading them into the computer and then posting them on the blog site. There are two TravellersPoint pages, so if you are looking be sure to page back to the first one. It is of Painted Eagles in Vancouver BC. We had to post them today or lose out on space on the blog. We are allowed so many bytes each month. I think Barbara did a fantastic job!

We will update you on the rest of Friday's activities tomorrow, as usual.

Hope you enjoy the pictures, comment if you can.
